Doctoral students in APA-accredited Clinical, Counseling and/or combined professional-scientific Psychology programs are eligible to apply. All coursework required for the doctoral degree must be completed prior to the start of the internship year, as well as any qualifying, comprehensive, or preliminary doctoral examinations.

Clinical Psychology Fellowship Program

The Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation (CoA) of the American Psychological Association (APA). The clinical psychology fellowship program at the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System offers 4 emphasis areas in: Health Psychology/Behavioral Sleep Medicine; Geropsychology; Palliative Care Psychology; Psychosocial Rehabilitation for Severe Mental Illness; Primary Care/Health Psychology; Rural Mental Health; and Substance Use Disorder/Homelessness.

Applicants for the fellowship program must be graduates of APA-accredited Clinical, Counseling and/or combined professional-scientific Psychology programs and have completed an APA-accredited internship by the beginning of the fellowship year. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Clinical Neuropsychology Fellowship Program

South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) offers a two-year APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology and recruits two fellows each year. The goal of the Clinical Neuropsychology Fellowship Program is to prepare fellows for employment as neuropsychologists and board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Our program provides training consistent with the Houston Conference Guidelines (Hannay, 1998) and is a member program of the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN; www.appcn.org).The Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation (CoA) of the American Psychological Association (APA).
