 Masking Requirement

Although the State of Texas has lifted the statewide mask mandate effective Wednesday, March 10th.  The South Texas Veterans Health Care System and VA continues to require a face covering by all staff and visitors, at all VA facilities nationwide.

As a federal organization, this policy can and will remain in place even if state or local masking requirements change. STVHCS is also continuing to conduct daily screenings upon entry, practicing physical distancing, require frequent handwashing and other safety measures for our employees’ safety.

Visitors to inpatient units are limited to one visitor at a time with specific visitation hours to reduce congestion and support social distancing. This excludes the Spinal Cord Injury Center, Community Living Center, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and COVID designated units

Daily visitation is scheduled from 3 - 8 pm.

All visitors are required to be screened at the main entrance and are required to wear a face mask while visiting with the patient or while in the facility.

Patient and visitor are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing throughout the visitation.

Our goal is to ensure the safety of our patients, employees and visitors.  Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in visitation privileges being revoked.
