South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS)
10th Annual "Ride a Crooked Trail" Car Show
Each year, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System hosts several events aimed at raising funds for our Veterans. These funds go toward purchasing comfort and hygiene items as well as various other Veteran needs, to include our forthcoming Fisher House.
Recently, our Kerrville hospital hosted the 10th annual “Ride a Crooked Trail” car show. The event was a big success, raising more than $5,000 for our Veterans.
It was a great turnout! There were 92 cars submitted for judging, and a 3 Sister Biker Group to visit the patients. At noon, there was a flag ceremony with a 21 gun salute, taps and a wreath laying ceremony at the base of the flagpole. Keeping the momentum going, there was a Veterans Day Parade with 35 different services & community organizations.
Closing out the day was the award ceremony at 2 p.m. with 30 different categories for the cars to be entered into. Listening to the comments, it seems everyone had a great time!
