A visit from Santa

Patients and employees got a surprise visit from a big man in a red suit today! Santa Claus made an early stop in San Antonio this year, but don’t worry kids, he’ll be back for Christmas Day! Santa visited with patients and staff, passing out candy canes, and thanking the Veteran patients for their service. The visits were a spectacular success, bringing a bit of holiday cheer to those who might not feel it otherwise. One Veteran said that this was the first time in his life he’d been visited by Santa, and he’s 49 years old. He was so pleased that Santa visited, and they both posed for photos, as did many of the other patients and employees. All in all, the visit was wonderful, raising the spirits of all involved, allowing everyone a brief moment to forget about their problems and appreciate all that this season has to offer. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or another holiday, from the South Texas Veterans Health Care System family to yours, have a safe and happy holiday season! |
